Happy Halloween!

Trevor and I are having a low key Halloween tonight just eating chili, watching football, and passing out candy to trick or treaters.  We heard that there are usually a lot of kids trick or treating in our neighborhood so I stocked up on candy, but I think we have eaten at least 1/3 of the candy throughout the week :)  Trevor didn't like the idea of handing out candy to strangers, so he put on his pajama pants early so he wouldn't have to answer the door.

So I have been passing out all the candy... I didn't like it at first because some of the kids are rude and just pound on your door until you answer it and then don't even say thank you (and their parents don't make them!).  But, I started liking it after there were two cute little girls at the door and their mom was waiting for them at the end of the sidewalk.  I gave them some candy and they said thank you and then ran back to their mom and the oldest one said really loud "Mommy, she was really pretty!"  I got a little confidence boost and now I'm happy to pass out candy to those sweet little munchkins :) haha!

We carved our pumpkins last night with Johnna and Robbie.  Johnna and I made pumpkin cookies and then we toasted the pumpkin seeds as we carved.  Here are some pictures from the evening:

Then Trevor got crazy with the drill

It was supposed to be a competition, but we didn't have any unbiased judges, so here is what we came up with:

1st place in the jack-o-lantern category: Johnna

1st place in the carved letter category: Lauren

1st Place in the carved bird dog category: Robbie

1st place in the carved bird category: Trevor

Here we are with our masterpieces:
