We slept in on Thursday and woke up to a house full of family :) The day was full of food, family, and football! We decided we needed to get out a little so we went on a little walk around the park. Bethany and I decided it was a good time for a photo opp.
I also got some cute family pictures along the way:
Then we came home to this:
Clayton and Logan in their turkey induced comas.
We finally woke them up and convinced them to play games with us! The Prewetts, by nature, are very competitive people...which is okay because they are generally good at most things too. Trevor warned me that I might take on these characteristics once we got married and I became a Prewett myself. Not too sure when the good at most things one will come, but I have definitely become more competitive. And board games are no exception! We played 42, Yatzee, and Trivial Pursuit while we were there. At least I won one of them :)
If you can't read it thats a score of 495!
Don't worry we hung it on the fridge so everyone could admire it for the rest of the weekend :) haha! That night we got to watch the Aggies put up a good fight against t.u. We didn't win, but it was a good game to watch and they did a whole lot better than everyone was expecting.
Friday we braved the crowds for Black Friday. I'd never been shopping on a black friday before, but it really wasn't too bad. We didn't head out early to beat the crowds, we waiting till after lunch to hit the stores and find some deals. We had a very successful day at Academy, Best Buy, Anthropologie, and Gap! Only four stores, but I'm pretty sure we shopped from lunch till dinner! We came home, ate chili, and listened to some fun stories from Trevor's cousin, Audrey, who just got back from a three month NOLS trip to the Baja, Mexico area.
Saturday we went out the the farm in Hempstead and worked and played all day. Some of the highlights were cutting down three dead trees, almost getting eaten by the cows, and fishing. I didn't get any pictures from my near death experience with the cows, but here are some pics from the others:
Pine tree before:
oops! the pine tree accidently fell towards the house, fence, and power lines!
cleaning up the debris:
On to the next one:
My fish!
I caught two fish! (my new record :))
That night we went to the Memorial HS playoff game to watch Trevor's cousin, Clayton, play. It was a close and exciting game, but Clayton ended up getting hurt in the 3rd quarter and couldn't play the rest of the game. It was close all the way to the end, but they ended up losing. It made me really nostalgic being in the high school environment again!
We woke up Sunday morning and packed up our stuff and headed to Luby's for lunch with the whole family again. We took our time leaving and didn't get back to Corpus until it was getting dark outside. We had so much fun getting to spend so much time with family for Thanksgiving. We figured out that we got to see everyone from Trevor's side of the family except one aunt who lives in Michigan and a cousin from L.A. and another cousin from Nashville. Thats pretty good for only 5 days. We have so much to be thankful for this year!
