San Antonio Weekend

Trevor and I headed up to San Antonio for the weekend this past weekend.  Rob was running in the San Antonio Rock 'n Roll 1/2 Marathon on Sunday so Mal and Rob were down for the weekend.  The Woolseys and us both live about 2 hours from San Antonio on either direction so we decided it was a good meeting place for the weekend.  We all met up at the riverwalk Friday night for dinner at Rio Rio and then got drinks afterward.  I had seen everyone just the weekend before, but Trevor hadn't, so it was fun to be able to spend time with everyone.  I couldn't get a good group picture, but I did take some couples shots and a girls picture at dinner:

And we used the get-together as another excuse to celebrate Sar's birthday this past week.  They brought her a giant piece of chocolate cake!

We stayed out with everyone later than this old married couple has stayed out in a while :) But had a lot of fun doing it!  Mal and Rob headed to Boerne to stay with Rob's family and Sar and Bill headed back to Kerrville that night.  We stayed at Cara and Jason's house, and needless to say we slept in late the next morning.   Saturday we went to the Fritt's new house to visit with them and see their new house.  We loved the place and had a lot of fun catching up with Logan and Cici and getting to play with Maddy.  Then we met up with my mom and dad and Cara and did a little shopping before heading back to Cara and Jasons to hang out and eat a yummy dinner.  I am a little embarrassed and very proud to say that I ate my first shrimp ever that night!  I wont mention that it was very little and wrapped in bacon and I had to cut it in half and eat it in two bites.  So now Jason has the honor of being the first person to cook me shrimp that I ate :)  The next morning everyone spent hours working on the hot water heater that had broken after my really nice hot shower on Saturday.  I spent the morning on baby duty with Ainslee :) I taught her some jokes, she now says "knock, knock" and when someone says "whose there?" she will either say "ME!" or "Grammy".  I think either one is pretty funny coming from an almost 2 year old.  She also has an obsession with emptying purses and wallets.  This is what I let her do on my watch...oops!:

Emptying uncle Trevor's wallet provided lots of entertainment.  However, when we found his hunting license hiding in the sheets when we went to bed that night he decided we shouldn't play that game again :)  I loved getting to see everyone this weekend... definitely reminded us of how blessed we are with great family and friends.
