I had every intention of keeping up with blogging about this pregnancy, doing weekly pictures and updates. But then we lost our internet connection (that we were stealing from the neighbors...shhh!) so I can't get online at home anymore. Which means I have to go to friends houses or coffee shops to blog these days and thats obviously not happening. Sorry! However, we finally decided that we are going to bite the bullet and actually pay to have internet at home, so we will see how long it takes us to do that.
In the mean time, here is a picture update of weeks 10-17 which catches us up to the present.
We keep having great reports from our doctor visits, for which we are very thankful and feel so blessed! I've been able to have 4 sonograms already and don't think I could ever get over seeing your baby moving around inside you. We had the first at 7 weeks and saw a tiny little baby with a heartbeat, then we got to go back at 9 weeks, 11 weeks, and 13 weeks! I got spoiled getting to see the baby every two weeks so it been hard not seeing lil p in over a month!
I've seen this survey on a lot of blogs and I thought it would be a good way to track the pregnancy and fun to look back on. Hopefully it will also keep me accountable to updating more often! No promises :)
how far along? 17 weeks
how are you measuring? 17 weeks
size of baby? about an 5 inches, the size of turnip, and 5 ounces
heartbeat? 152 bpm
total weight gain/loss? +3 lbs.
maternity clothes? Maternity jeans are a must, work pants I can wear a bella band with and get away with it. I can still wear my regular tops, but just got a lot of fun maternity clothes to borrow from friends so I'm liking the longer maternity tops.
stretch marks? No
sleep? Sleeping pretty good at night, I have to get up to go to the bathroom usually just once at night. Trevor has been sick this week so his coughing is keeping me up a little :)
best moment this week? Getting to hear the heartbeat at my appointment this week and spending Christmas with my family in Kerrville and already getting gifts for lil p, this baby is going to be spoiled!

movement? I haven't felt the baby kicking yet, but I can't wait for that! My ultrasounds show that I have an anterior placenta (which means the placenta is on the stomach side, so between the baby and my stomach) so my Dr. said that I probably won't feel it until later on around 20-22 weeks.
food cravings? I'm still having strong food aversions, mostly meats. I can't even think about ground meat without getting nauseous, and chicken doesn't sound good, but I can force it down if I need to. Fruit is the one thing that always sounds good to me. I even asked my doctor if it was okay that I was getting most my nutrients from smoothies when things were really rough. Ice water with limes or lemons has hit the spot, and I've also been wanting whataburger milkshakes a lot lately, but I don't think that is out of the ordinary for me :)
gender predictions? I just scheduled our "big" anatomy ultrasound for Jan. 13th, my mom's birthday! This is the ultrasound where we could find out the baby's gender if we wanted, but we have decided to be surprised. I'm leaning towards girl and Trevor is leaning towards boy, so one of us will be right!
what i miss: Nothing!
what i'm looking forward to: I'm anxious to start looking obviously pregnant and not like I've been drinking too much beer lately! I think we are getting there, and apparently the baby is about to hit a pretty big growth spurt in the next several weeks so we will see.
how are you feeling? I'm finally starting to feel better these days. I was pretty sick there from around week 6-week 15, but the past couple weeks I haven't felt nauseous all day long, and am keeping most my food down :) I still have my moments but they are getting less often so I'm hoping its fading away.
