Coming Home

We brought sweet Isla home on Wednesday, June 6th.  I really didn't mind being in the hospital, having nurses and doctors constantly monitoring Isla to make sure she was healthy, having 3 meals a day brought to me in bed, having lots of visitors in and out, and being able to send Isla to the nursery at night so we could get some good sleep.  However, I'm pretty sure Trevor's sleeping arrangement in our room was less then ideal and he was getting pretty stir crazy in there!  We almost got released on Tuesday but I still wasn't feeling too great and then they noticed Isla wasn't making enough dirty diapers so they keep us another day.

My mom brought the dress that has become a tradition to bring home little girls in our family just in case Baby P was a girl.  My mom came home in this dress and then she brought both my sister and I home in it, and then my sister brought both of her little girls in the dress.  So Isla became the 6th baby to wear this dress home from the hospital!

All dressed up and ready to go home!

My mom and sister decorated the front of the house to greet Isla.  Note the Sonic drink, we just happened to be driving home right in the middle of Sonic happy hour so of course we had to take Isla on her first trip to Sonic!

Isla actually slept pretty good the first night home and for that we are very thankful!  She slept amazingly at the hospital at night in the nursery.  The nurses actually admitted to kinda forgetting about her at night because she never cried.  They had to bring her to me while she was still sleeping so I could wake her up and feed her.  So that first night at home we just tried to recreate the sleeping conditions she had at the nursery :).  She has slept flat on her back in the pack n play in our room, swaddled, and with a hat on every night since she's been home.  She adjusted to life at home pretty easily as we all tried to figure each other out and get a new schedule established.
