I'm just going to play a little catch up here.
We've tackled our next home improvement project. Doors. All of our interior door are the old hollow wooded doors. They might have been great at one point, but not anymore! We decided to go the DIY route and buy the door without any holes or hinges. Trevor took the first door off and made himself a workbench out of it. Then he went straight to work measuring, drilling, chiseling, hanging new doors and installing new knobs! There have been only a few set back along the way, but nothing too difficult (says the wife that sits and watches with a glass of lemonade and a laptop in her lap)! We've only hung three out of the nine doors that need to be replaced so far. We haven't had too much free time lately! I'm mad at myself for not taking before and after pics from the doors that we have done because they really do brighten up the house... maybe next door we do I will remember!
Funny story: We found some great door knobs on clearance at Sutherlands and they only had nine left, which was exactly how many we needed. They were discontinued so we needed to get them all then or else we would never be able to match them. They were marked down quite a bit, but when we they wrung them up they were still full price. So we told them that they were marked that they were on sale and what the price should be. But the lady had to call a guy to go do a price check and it was taking a while so Trevor went to go check things out. While I was waiting at the register for the price check on the nine door knobs the cashier asks me, "Why do yall need nine door knobs anyway? Do you have a nine bedroom house or something?" I then explained that no our house only has 3 bedrooms but we have also have closets and bathrooms. Then I thought, "If I owned a nine bedroom house, I don't think I would be here at Sutherlands arguing the price of a door knob!"
In other news.... I found a job! I started working a couple weeks ago. Hence, the lack of blog updates! I am now working as a receptionist for a christian counselor. It has been crazy so far because I was being trained the first two days, then we moved offices across town the next couple of days, and then I started training the new intern right after we moved. So I have been working longer hours just trying to get everything settled. Poor Ruby went from having a stay at home mom to being left alone in the backyard for 10 hours a day! I think she is confused and thinks she now has a job as a landscaper in our yard. Her first order of business was to put a new trench in the flower beds!

(This was only after the 1st day we left her - it got much bigger!)
We've also started wedding season! The past two weekends there have been wedding showers for Mal and Rob. The first one was hosted by Rob's family in Bourne and was a fiesta theme. Trevor and Ruby were away at a friends ranch for a guys weekend so I went solo. I spent the weekend in San Antonio with Sarah and Bill and went to the shower with them after a day of shopping with Sarah.
This past weekend I helped host another shower in Kerrville at the Ridout's river house. It is so beautiful out there that we really didn't have to do much to make it special. We ate fajitas and sangria, enjoyed the beautiful Hill Country and catching up with everyone and celebrated Mal and Rob! The big day is a month from today!

Hopefully life will settle down a little this summer, and I will keep up with the blog a little better!
